其一，提到这三个词组，大家首先想起的是path，route（to some place），即"通路"。比如：
Can you tell me the access to the building？你能告诉我去那大楼走哪条路吗？
All the approaches to the palace were guarded by troops．通往宫殿的所有道路都有部队把守。
The way to the station is rather rough．到车站去的路崎岖不平。
其二，除了最基本的意思外，三者还有一意思相同，means， method，即"方法"。意思虽同，但用法却不一。
access的意思为：means of approaching or entering（a place），即（接近或进入某地的）方法，比如： The only access to the farm house is across the field．要到那个农舍去唯有穿过田地。或者译为：到农舍去的方法只有穿过田地。
而approach的意思为：a way of dealing with a particular problem， esp．a way that has been carefully thought out，即解决一特定问题的方法，尤其是经过深思熟虑的方法。比如：Have you found a correct approach to the subject？你找到解决这个问题的正确方法了吗？
请大家注意，access to与approach to中的两个to均为介词，但后者的意思虽为"方法，手段"，但翻译成汉语应译为：解决某一问题的方法，尽管句中并未出现"解决"（deal with，solve）之类的词。而way to在表达这一意思时，to就不再为介词，而是不定式to。比如： There are many ways to tackle the problem．有多种方法解决这一问题。此时，way to后面必须接动词原形，且为表达"解决"（solve， tackle，etc．）意思的词。
其三，access to还有另一意思，opportunity or right to usesth．or approach sb．即（使用某物或接近某人的）机会或权利。如：Students must have access to good library．学生要有使用好图书馆的权利。
而approach to则另有意思：attitude，即态度。如：
Years later，his son Charles recalled his father’s approach to money．几年之后，他的儿子查尔斯回忆他父亲对待钱的态度。
而way to既没有"权利"也没有"态度"的意思。
总而言之，access to中的to为介词，此词组有三层意思：通路（route）、方法（means）、权利或机会（right or opportunity）。approach to中的to也为介词，且此词组也有三层意思：通路（route）、方法（means to deal with a problem）、态度（attitude）。而way to中的to在第一个意思"通路（route）"中为介词，而在第二个意思"方法（method）"中为不定式to。

Foreign buyers will find that adapting a legalistic approach to negotiations at key intervals will result in the granting of major concessions．（方法）
